I mean if Glenn wins it will be emotional, Gaga we will get the waterworks, and Olivia will be shy and endearing. Most of the recent best actress winners speeches have been pretty unmemorable so it will be fun if we have a decent race going into the night and a winner who didn’t have their name written on the trophy a month before.

They both look cute here and I hope pictures like these will make some Gaga’s fans NOT trash Glenn.

Any form of insults or hateful comments are unnecessary in my opinion, whether it’s directed towards Glenn or Gaga. I have seen bad things said about both women and it gives people the terrible impression that Gold Derby is filled with awful people.

I haven’t actually seen Mary Poppins Returns, however, and do correct me if I’m wrong, I find it hard to believe that Emily Blunt is going to get nominated for a children’s Disney movie over some of the best performances of the year from incredibley respected actresses who all featured in potentially Oscar worthy films, realistically there should be absolutely no way the Academy give her a nomination, it would be unfair on Nicole Kidman, Yalitza Aparicio and Viola Davis who should be the only contenders for that 5th nomination spot ( the other 4 sure certainties would be Glenn Close, Lady Gaga, Olivia Colman and Melissa McCarthy), does anyone else agree on this.

The thing is I want a tie at the Oscars but Close and COLMAN, not Gaga! I was very irritated by 2 of the last 3 of the CC awards last night (but at least they got Best Picture right). Once Close wins SAG everything will be wonderful again, and I can look forward to Close winning her Oscar!

Emily is the best thing of MPR. She played her flawlessly.

Viola playing herself for the 50th time…

I have the feeling that Emily Blunt will be nominated for an Oscar in the Supporting Actress category for A Quiet Place and will not quite make it into the top 5 for her charming performance in Mary Poppins Returns.

Davis already shouted and wept her way to an Oscar. The act is stale, hence why she’s been ignored most of this season. I can’t see them nominating 2 performances from remakes in the same category either…

Blunt is versatile, fresh and comic in MPR which was a very risky role. You should maybe watch it before dismissing her as so inferior…

the website yes… but the forum and the threads I don’t think so.

You are 100% incorrect. The threads have been here since the dawn of GoldDerby.

The studio should have released Destroyer wide during the nomination period. I think the word of mouth would have pushed Kidman to the fifth slot.

I am starting to wonder if McCarthy is going to be left out of the Oscars. I’m just getting the Adams-Arrival vibe from her…

Kidman is absolutely deserving, but Annapurna fumbled this one.

Prayer circle is in full force this final day. Let’s go for that double nomination and add some much needed life to the lineup
