Jeff Wells from the website Hollywood Elsewhere is a member of the BFCA, and he revealed his picks for the final ballot of tomorrow’s Critics Choice awards. He voted for Glenn Close as Best Actress. He hated ASIB and didn’t vote for it in any of the categories LOL. http://hollywood-elsewhere.com/2019/01/hes-final-critics-choice-ballot/

LOL at this… I don’t know what is weirder:

That he is not voting for his actual favorite.

    The unfiltered shade towards LG.

Nicole Kidman and Emily Blunt for BA nom
No Oscars for A Bribery is Born
    Rachel Weisz for BSA
    Glenn Close for BA
    Richard Grant for BSA

I loved ASIB but I’ll happily join this circle

JW PICK: Glenn Close, The Wife / serious conflict here — my actual favorite is Melissa McCarthy but I’m also a Close supporter from way back. Plus a Close win at the CC awards will bolster her Oscar chances and thus lessen the odds favoring Lady Gaga

The corruption and bias is real this year.

Least sis was in a best picture winner and not a cameo. Not everybody can do that

    Just look at her

That was basically me at the result of Best actress 2010, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2017. Crisis averted for 2019.

It makes no sense. Your favorite actress of the year is Dakota Johnson in Fifty Shades Freed? Vote for her then.

Can’t believe she and Liev Schreiber are over. Literally hotness overload.

we don’t need to worry about sis needing to hit every precursor for an Oscar nom at least. She got in twice without doing that. Penguin Bloom shall be her coronation.

I loved Roma but Aparicio is only Ok. De Tavira is the real great performance.

Can I just add,  it’s a real injustice Mellisa McCarthy is getting no buzz besides a nomination,in a more just award  season she would be considered a serious front runner . If you haven’t seen can you ever forgive me ( which is basically everyone ) please do !!!

Her character was played as a fully fledged complicated person ….it’s the kind of acting that won Oscars before campaign culture became so pervasive at the academy awards ……she was exceptional in that film !!!!

What did you think about Grant?! Do you think he deserves to win??? Although i haven’t watched the film i actually would like to see him win. He’s a fantastic actor.

Equally as good , they both played off each other incredibly throughout the film , and yes it would be a well deserved BSA win , as it would for a BA win for McCarthy.  However , I think this awards season Grant has a much better shot at BSA than Mcarthy does in BA….I’m hoping she could pull off an upset at SAG because it comes across as an effortless yet precise performance , something that actors would appreciate but I think it’s fair to say it’s a Close-Colmam- Gaga race at this point ( which is fine and I’m really rooting for Colman , because I like her ) but I just wanted to give Mellisa McCarthy some love , she was tremendous !
