I know I should not be peeking into Sasha and M’s conversation about marital issues but I cannot look away 👀

It will hurt her with both.

Not with Oscar it won’t. Study history, my friend.

To those who are saying “Poor Glenn”.

Seriously? It’s not only obvious that she will win, she deserves the award. Her performance in The Wife is impeccable, natural and precise. A 10/10 work and she should be praised for it.

Now regarding Gaga, mediocre to say the least. People are mistaking Gaga’s talent in music (which is not that remarkable IMHO) with her supposed talent in acting. First, the music in the movie is questionable. She screams during the entire chorus of “Shallow” and you can hear her voice breaking when she tries to reach the high notes. I understand, by listening to Gaga sing, why Beyoncé was Warner Bros’s first option.

Regarding Gaga’s acting, let’s be honest here – playing a singer with a big nose is not far from her comfort zone. It’s like she’s shooting a biopic, and there’s nothing spectacular about her performance either – her acting is emotionless and lacks charisma. Camera doesn’t love her. I honestly don’t understand the buzz over her acting.

Glenn, you deserve this award. Go get it.

I have Close winning this but your assessment of what Gaga achieved in ASIB is ignorant if not laughable. Her acting is “emotionless and lacks charisma” huh? Are you making this all up in your head?? And what you’re saying about her playing herself is ridiculous. For one; Gaga is nothing like the character Ally. Yes, both are singers but that’s where the similarity ends. And for two; you need to watch Muhammad Ali reenact his own life in The Greatest and see how godawful he was to appreciate just how extremely difficult it is – even if Gaga was playing herself which she wasn’t. This post is the dumbest thing I’ve seen on GD to date.

I’ve been gone for the past day, and reading this thread has been such a crazy ride.
