I’ve been gone for the past day, and reading this thread has been such a crazy ride.

Who knows, maybe it’s Gaga herself trying to stay relevant and interesting when no one is paying attention to her.

Yes Gaga obviously has hundreds of accounts on this website just to hate on Yalitza

She does visit twice a day! Tom O’Neil said so and she said “water” during her BFCA acceptance speech. She must love what they’re doing in this thread in her honor.

By this time tomorrow, Close’ Oscar chances will be dead and buried.

To those who are saying “Poor Glenn”. Seriously? It’s not only obvious that she will win, she deserves the award. Her performance in The Wife is impeccable, natural and precise. A 10/10 work and she should be praised for it. Now regarding Gaga, mediocre to say the least. People are mistaking Gaga’s talent in music (which is not that remarkable IMHO) with her supposed talent in acting. First, the music in the movie is questionable. She screams during the entire chorus of “Shallow” and you can hear her voice breaking when she tries to reach the high notes. I understand, by listening to Gaga sing, why Beyoncé was Warner Bros’s first option. Regarding Gaga’s acting, let’s be honest here – playing a singer with a big nose is not far from her comfort zone. It’s like she’s shooting a biopic, and there’s nothing spectacular about her performance either – her acting is emotionless and lacks charisma. Camera doesn’t love her. I honestly don’t understand the buzz over her acting. Glenn, you deserve this award. Go get it.

Gaga is a media darling. She’s struggling to sell since 2013 but the media keeps trying to revive her. She’s also trying to be relevant to the Oscars since 2015. That’s why her performance is so overrated. If it was someone else, it wouldn’t be considered for anything beyond a globe nomination even if it was 3 times better.

Sweetie when she is snubbed again for the next Mary Poppins Sequel, her 3 minute cameo in A Quiet Place 2, her French language debut under Olivier Assayas, Spanish with Amenabar, and her future reluctant collaborations with David O’Russell, Adam McKay, PT Anderson and Von Trier we’ll share a glass of wine for each year she’s been ignored (other believers welcome to join us and help towards the bill)

oh baby…. That’ll be totally awesome

If he’s white then I’m freaking purple. Go back to Twitter and whine there.

but there are lots of whites in Egypt. They don’t even consider themselves black. Even Charlize Theron is South African but she isn’t black. I don’t know about Malek though but he looks mixed and not obviously black
