I can’t listen Shallow .. not my thing I definitely love Paparazzi. I haven’t check the albums after BTW. and I won’t… I don’t like the artistic direction after 2011.

Um… Her best song ever is “I’ll Never Love Again” and it’s from 2018. So her artistic direction as of late is definitely good.

Julia Roberts in Ben Is Back was decent, though it felt like it’s one of those performances that are all about one scene. And in this case it’s the final scene. Her performance in the last 5 minutes or so was quite impressive. But otherwise she was just there. Would I nominate her? Actually no, I wouldn’t. I don’t think she would make my top 5. Maybe #7 for the year.

Maybe she’s referring to Artpop and Joanne? Artpop was a mess and Joanne is her weakest album.

If I may still join the out of topic discussion, my fave Gaga songs are
    1. Marry The Night
    2. Gypsy
    3. Venus
    4. The Edge of Glory
    5. Shallow

ARTPOP is an underrated poor sis and Born This Way is her masterpiece

ARTPOP is Gaga’s second best album. (Yeah, I said it)

This turning into a Lady Gaga album rating thread sounds right. But anyways, even though I don’t really listen to her I feel like besides the obvious choices (Paparazzi, Bad Romance, etc.), my favorites are probably the ones out of Joanne (it’s her only album I think I’ve actually gone through completely). John Wayne, Hey Girl, Diamond Heart, and Perfect Illusion are probs my favorites.

“No user starts this shady” - someone culturally relevant.

Also got banned because...reasons? So, I guess ciao.

    1.Born This Way
    2.A Star Is Born
    3.Joanne
    4.ARTPOP
    5.The Fame
    6.The Fame Monster

Off topic: I just saw Ben Is Back and Julia Roberts gave the best performance of her career, I´m surprised she didn´t even get a globe nomination.

Rosamund Pike’s nomination really seems random considering she knocked out Roberts, Portman and Davis leaving them totally out of the race but still didn’t manage to get her anywhere past Globes

Well I´m watching her film tomorrow so I can´t really tell but I´ve read she deserves it.I would have replaced Kidman with Roberts though.

Pike’s  film was also nominated for Best Song, so I wouldn’t call her nomination “random”. Also she was nominated for a Satellite award. Julia on the other hand wasn’t nominated anywhere.

Any updates on the state of the race? I feel like Close has never been a juggernaut due to her lack of steam in the earlier part of the season. She really should have steamrolled throughout the awards season if she really was unstoppable. The hype around Gaga and Colman as competition made this race too competitive for Close to be this year’s Julianne Moore who really had no real competition due to there not being an alternative to her- Cotillard had won too recently and the nomination was her reward, the Academy disliked Gone Girl with left Pike with no chances of winning, Felicity Jones was a filler nominee, and Reese Witherspoon nor Wild had any buzz. This year Close is up against four nominees whose films ALL have more support then her’s which does hurt her a little bit. I still think that the strength of her campaign in addition to her doing so well with the precursors will push her ahead but Colman could beat her if Oscar voters are not passionate enough about Close.
