Glenn Close was obviously the one who had won the popular vote, but for some reasons the Academy wasn’t going to let her go home with that Oscar.

You are the one who needs to LET IT GO.

Reading the other threads is like the most boring moment  of my days, while I always enjoy reading ppl here.

So if we should entertain ourselves, why not having a grown-mature discussion with actual real point of views instead of lame attempts to shade?

Just saw A Star Is Born- Lady Gaga actually was really good to me. I thought her acting was quite strong and her stage presence of course was also terrific. It wasn’t an amazing performance but it was definitely a good one. The movie though was kind of a mess- too much of it was just Bradley Cooper mumbling and bumbling around. It felt pretty meandering and the exposition of the film was poorly executed and too rushed. I’m tired of films with poor scripts getting too much praise(I.E Roma) and this is another example of that. The cuts between scenes also were rather odd as it didn’t feel like the scenes were long enough at times and ended too abruptly. Haven’t seen McCarthy but my ranking now would be:

    1. Olivia Colman
    2. Glenn Close(although I enjoy Gaga’s performance more Close was the technically stronger of the two but I might change my mind in the future)
    3. Lady Gaga
    4. Yalitza Apparacio

I recently saw Mary Poppins.Emily was charming and better than Julie Andrews, maybe I’m biased cause I hate the first film of MP but Emily didna great job.

I thought Andrews was fine but not really Oscar worthy.
