Yeah, the more I revisit clips, the faker she seems. I agree with everything you said. Why did they break up? Do they even love the child?

RENEE ZELLWEGGER has the best performance by an actress in 2019.

I cant believe people still doubt the greatness of her work.
If she loses will be because of the industry need to reward an Avenger that is still generating millions as a superhero, but I still don’t see Scarlett winning for this role.

RENEE´s is as good as Marion´s and that is saying much.

    Renee Zellweger – Winner

    Locks:
    Scarlett Johansson
    Charlize Theron
    Saoirse Ronan

    The fight:

    Awkwafina
    Erivo

The comments on Rotten Tomatoes, Facebook
& Twitter regarding Renee’s performance are peppered with words, “transcendent, tour de force, uncanny, remarkable, mesmerizing & Oscar-worthy, just to name a few.

For some reason, many people on this site are trying to figure out a way they can justify another actress winning the Best Actress Oscar.

Renee did give the best performance by an actress in 2019. Call her “wrinkled”, “squinty eyed”, “boring” or any other derogatory term you like, but the performance she gave as Judy Garland in the last year of Judy’s life was nothing short of brilliant. She was in every scene of the film, other than the flashback sequences. She was funny, heart wrenching, and did a damn good job on her vocals.

She deserves the Oscar. I truly hope she gets it.

I think Johansson is getting in- I don’t see her splitting votes and getting shut out because isn’t her performance in Jojo Rabbit supporting?

Scarlett Johansson’s performance is terrible and it definitely doesn’t deserve to be nominated. I could count more than 30 performances that are more deserving of a nomination. Awful actress, awful human being, who is just robbing someone who is genuinely talented their rightfully earned spot.

She should win the award if her peers think she has the best performance, not because she’s a PoC.

The Bafta so white thing is an exaggeration, just like Oscars so white was. Why can’t people simply understand that some years will be more diverse than others. Last year two of the four major acting winners were PoC. This year the four acting winners may happen to be white.

BAFTA obviously preferred other performances to Erivo, Nyongo, Murphy, Akwafina etc. Many of these performers are on the brink of a nomination and were not sure bets. To suggest there’s a racist agenda is to make a completely unfounded allegation.

We live in very political times and Charlize’s very timely transformation into Megyn Kelly will easily impress a bunch of voters, especially younger ones. I give her 30% chance of winning right now. Wouldn’t be surprised if she wins both GG and SAG.

She stole nominations from more deserving stronger performances such as Florence (Midsommar) Lupita (Us) Alfre (Clemancy).
U only need to see last 10 mins of Midsommar. Her and Renee are taking credit for makeup artists Work.

I think like many feel is some white actresses got quite a few nominations for mediocre & forgettable work and their makeup cover being hyped while Lupita is remembered over half a year later, people like Renee and charlize shouldn’t be locks.

And that is something I’m not understanding. GG nomination or not, I still think Lupita is a THREAT. I don’t understand why some people are dismissing her performance in ‘Us’!!???

Lupita has a lot of barriers in her way- the film came out in March, is not going to be a major awards contender, is a horror film, and she has no BAFTA nod. She needs Critics Choice and most crucially SAG to win the Oscar. She might win the former in a tie to Renee. If she wins it by herself, people will start taking her seriously as a contender. We’ll see.

Lupita is not winning anything, and that’s coming from someone who wants her to sweep. She’s barely going to get nominated for the Oscar and despite the countless critics prizes, she’s not even getting CC because they are going to rubber-stamp Renée, as will SAG. It’s over. And I’m bored.

Emmys FYC - "Unbelievable" and "The Handmaid's Tale" in all categories; Viola Davis in Best Drama Actress for the final season of "HTGAWM;" "Ozark:" Drama Series, Laura Linney (Best Actress) and Julia Garner (Best Supporting Actress)

I don’t know- I turned off the video of Renee’s acceptance speech but I could tell how awkward the room felt. And she’s always been well liked at the Globes having won three of them before her win there this year. It depends on if passion for somebody else overtakes one of the precursors.

Expecting and happy for Renee to win. Hope next year’s competition is more interesting with an outsider coming through like Olivia Colman in 2019.
