Let’s be real. Charlize Theron is winning for Megyn Kelly. Imagine what a win in a political moment like this. The Globes aren’t going to leave this opportunity go.

    I serve the tea (politely)

Yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if she won.

Welp, the chances of Theron becoming the shocking snub of the year have increased a little bit.

Although Charlize is a strong contender, I think it will be either Renée or Scarlett.

Oh please, Scarlett will win the best actress Oscar because she’s Jewish. Plus she’s got a mini banner year going on with TWO Oscar contender films.

Correct me if I’m wrong but Awkwafina will become the 3rd woman of color to win Best Actress (in a motion picture) at the Globes tonight, following Whoopi Goldberg (Drama, 1985) and Queen Angela Bassett (Musical, 1993). She will also be the first this century. This is pretty big and will generate a lot of press for her

De Armas is still a person of color though, even if it’s not obvious at first glance. Anyway, while I think she might have a chance, I’m still predicting that Awkwafina will be way ahead of everyone else in her category.

Except Kelly is one of the most divisive journalists alive right now. A win isn’t impossible, but that’s definitely gonna have some kind of effect on her chances.

I have to agree with this, even though I wish voters could see that Theron’s ACTING and it’s a transformative performance. This might have been what cost Bale the Oscar for Vice last year. Unlikable VP, even though he played it so well! Still, Meryl Streep won for playing Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady, who was a very divisive political figure. And I know every year we must analyze these events differently, ala Streep was WAY overdue for her third trophy.

Charlize Theron herself won for playing one of the most infamous female serial killers of her time in Monster (2003). That character was given humanity too, even though she was loathed by many. If you watch Bombshell, it’s breathtaking how well Theron conveys the personality and facial expressions of Megan (even with the makeup, which isn’t over done). I wish her character had even given more material to work with, as her screen time feels rushed towards the second half. But still she’s best in show to me.

Awkwafina just locked her spot in Best Actress. Final slot is between Nyong’o, Ronan, and Thirsterivo.

    Academy-Award winners:

Parasite: Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay

Joker: Best Actor - Joaquin Phoenix

    Jojo Rabbit: Best Adapted Screenplay
