Here are the supporting performances nominated in the same category at the Oscars this century. Who’s your favorite pair? I picked Farmiga and Kendrick.
Doing it on my phone. Please excuse any typos

2. The Help (Both excellent, I’d also nominate either Tyson/Janney/Dallas Howard as a third nominee from the cast)
3. Almost Famous (Both great)
4. Doubt (Both great – and Adams is pretty underrated here)
5. Gosford Park (Both good, I’d replace Mirren with Watson, though)
6. The Fighter (Both good)
7. Up in the Air (Both good)
8. Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (Woody is okay, Sam is excellent)
9. Chicago (Didn’t care for CZJ)
10. The Irishman (Didn’t care for the film)August 26, 2020 at 9:11 am #1203668513Did you forget The Favourite or are you subtly suggesting they should’ve been lead? From the poll options, Babel.

Chastain & Spencer, The Help (mostly because of Chastain)
Mirren & Smith, Gosford Park (mostly because of Mirren)
Stone & Weisz, The Favourite
Adams & Davis, Doubt
Rockwell & Harrelson, Three Billboards
Adams & Leo, The Fighter
Zeta-Jones & Latifah, ChicagoAugust 26, 2020 at 10:11 am #12036686531. Pesci/ Pacino, both great performances.
2. Barraza/ Kikuchi, great aswell.
3. Hudson/ McDormand, love this movie and this performances.
4. Spencer/ Chastain, both where really good.
5. Adams/ Davis, both good aswell.
6. Mirren/ Smith, Mirren I thought was great. Smith didn’t do much for me.
7. CZJ/ Latifah, entretainig, fun performances.
8. Adams/ Leo, OK. I liked Adams better.
Haven’t seen 3B

Out of those in the poll I voted for Rockwell/Harrelson.

Yes I agree but the poll is asking which is the best ‘double nominated supporting’ performance. If they are not being included because neither were supporting then Catherine Zeta-Jones should not be on this list and the question should be ‘which was the best supporting performance pair’.
I mean maybe there could have been an ‘other’ option at the very least?

August 26, 2020 at 12:51 pm #1203668887The Babel ladies take this in a landslide. Both gave win-worthy performances that have stuck with me for a long time.

Yeah but at least one of Chicago’s supporting actresses was actually supporting.
ReplyCopy URLAugust 26, 2020 at 2:39 pm #1203669028Stone and Weisz is the superior pair, absolutely flawless performances. But out of those in the poll, I’d say Barraza/Kikuchi take this.
