Whoa, I thought this was a boxing or martial arts thread,

    Not in any particular order:

The Lord of the Rings TFoTR (but really x3)
All Quiet on the Western Front
    Gone With the Wind
    The King’s Speech
    On the Waterfront
    Lawrence of Arabia
    The Godfather
One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest
    Annie Hall
    The Last Emperor
    Titanic (1997)

Is that 11? Had to leave a bunch off my list regardless, such as “Amadeus” and “All About Eve”

I’m currently in the midst of re-watching all the best pictures in chronological order (or at least those available from Netflix – tonight is Midnight Cowboy).  I don’t know how you can say what’s “best” but these are the ones I’ll happily watch again and again (and have)…

    (alphabetical order):
All about Eve (one of the rare years I really like all of the nominees)
    Amadeus
    Dances with Wolves
(though GoodFellas is one of my all-time faves too)
    The English Patient
    Forrest Gump
    The Godfather
(but it should have been Cabaret)
    Gone with the Wind
(and a couple more from this great year as well)
    The Lord of the Rings
(though Fellowship is the one I would choose of the trilogy)
Patton (another year with a number of nominees I really enjoy)
    Terms of Endearment

    1st Runner-Up: A Man for All Seasons
