I am partial to “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” and “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” due to nostalgia.

I am sorry for my past behaviour. I am sorry for being a turd. I would like to try and be better.

My all time favorite is “Beauty And The Beast” from Beauty And The Beast. Nothing can ever top it. Both Angela Lansbury’s solo version and Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson’s duet are absolutely glorious. I personally like the duet a little bit more, but both versions are a beautiful marriage between Alan Menken’s music and the late Howard Ashman’s lyrics. It’s a shame Ashman couldn’t collect his Oscar in person, but watching the win on YouTube (I was only a year old when the film originally came out), it was beautiful to see Ashman’s partner accept on his behalf.

    Shallow

    Lose Yourself

    Skyfall

    My heart will go on

    How far I’ll go

    Ordinary Love

    Happy

    Til it happens to you

The place where lost things go

    All the stars

    Stand up

    I’m gonna love me again

    Let it go

“The Morning AFter” by Maureen McGovern from “The Poseidon Adventure” comes to mind…..also liked “Theme From Shaft” which won over “Bless the Beasts & Children” from the movie of the same name….both would have been great choices.

It’s so hard to believe the dumb music branch ignored the original songs written for “Cabaret”.
