“Parasite” winning Best Picture…..and Best Director, for that matter. Obvious, but true.
If it weren’t for “Parasite,” then “The Shape of Water” would be my favorite BP winner of the 2010s…..and it deserved every award it got (except Best Original Score, that should’ve been “Phantom Thread”).
ReplyCopy URLFebruary 21, 2020 at 11:24 pm #1203356094They made so many great decisions this year: Parasite winning Picture, Director and Screenplay, Jojo winning Screenplay, Joker winning Actor and Score, FvF winning Editing and 1917 winning Cinematography were all very deserved.
Get Out winning Best Original Screenplay and Blade Runner 2049 winning Best Cinematography in 2017.
Jungle Book winning Visual Effects in 2016.
All of Fury Road’s wins in 2015, and Rylance beating Stallone: I thought he had the better performance.

February 22, 2020 at 1:58 am #1203356190Parasite and Moonlight are two outcomes that had me shook, in the sense that they both were superbly inspired and deserved. The kind of decision that made me scream “I can’t believe they actually did it”

Incredibles 2. The irony that that a Disney superhero film lost to the one Marvel character they don’t have the rights too.
