I’ve seen this for other years but not yet for this year.

    My opinion:

    Saiorse Ronan: Lady Bird
    Margot Robbie: I, Tonya
    Meryl Streep: Sophie’s Choice

    Gary Oldman: Sid & Nancy
Timothee Chalamet: Call Me By Your Name
    Denzel Washington: The Hurricane
    Daniel Kaluuya: Get Out
Daniel Day-Lewis: There Will Be Blood

    Laurie Metcalf: Roseanne
    Allison Janney: The Help
    Octavia Spencer: The Help
    Lesley Manville: Another Year
    Mary J. Bilge: Mudbound

    Sam Rockwell: Moon
    Christopher Plummer: Beginners
    Willem Dafoe: Platoon
    Richard Jenkins: The Visitor
    Woody Harrelson: Natural Born Killers

Wow, didn’t recognise him. Amazing how people change while aging.

I wish I had seen many of these performers on stage, as, from what I’ve heard and the clips I’ve seen, those are likely where some of their best performances were, but, on screen at least, here are my favorites–

Sally Hawkins: The Shape of Water
    Frances McDormand: Olive Kitteridge
Margot Robbie: The Wolf of Wall Street
    Saoirse Ronan: Brooklyn
    Meryl Streep: Sophie’s Choice

    Timothée Chalamet: Homeland
    Daniel Day-Lewis: Lincoln
    Daniel Kaluuya: Get Out
    Gary Oldman: True Romance
    Denzel Washington: Malcolm X

Mary J. Bilge: No More Drama video
    Allison Janney: The West Wing
    Lesley Manville: Phantom Thread
    Laurie Metcalf: Horace and Pete
    Octavia Spencer: Fruitvale Station

    Willem Dafoe: Platoon
Woody Harrelson: The People vs. Larry Flynt
    Richard Jenkins: Olive Kitteridge
    Christopher Plummer: Barrymore
Sam Rockwell: Confessions of a Dangerous Mind

Sally Hawkins in Persuasion pwns every performer nominated this year and their whole careers. It’s probably the best dramatic performance I’ve ever seen on television.
