It is sad how underrated Da’Vine Joy Randolph is.

She was doing her own dance and there are a lot of videos of her on Youtube and Twitter learning to pole dance.

But even after that, she is great in all her subtle moments.

I liked the story. Wasn’t expecting that. An Oscar nom for Lopez is what that eventual line up needs.

I have no clue what her being in the upcoming Barbie movie (being co-written by two likely Oscar nominees this year) has anything to do with this, but okay. And there hasn’t been a lawyer character that has won this category since Tilda Swinton, which makes me believe you only included that as “proof” that Laura Dern is winning.

I don’t argue that “mothers” and “wives” characters tend to win in this category, so it is at least refreshing that Dern, Lopez and Robbie don’t fit that characterization (at least not primarily).

Robbie is playing Barbie doll in Bombshell. There’s not much depth. That’s what I meant.

Margot was bland in Bombshell. I was rooting for her but to be fair she is not good enough to be the lead in this category. Jennifer Lopez definitely deserves this and i hope the prissy voters can look past the “mainstream-ness” of Hustlers and vote for her.

Her movie isn’t getting the serious industry support necessary for her to coattail. But she’ll definitely be a hire in the future.

Yeah Robbie only has 1 scene. Same as Dern. Dern has that narrative though which will be hard to stop once the train starts moving and it already left the station.

She was good, but aside from a strong intro, I don’t think she stood out that much.

I actually thought Nicole Kidman stood out more in Bombshell then Robie. Even Robie’s big scene wasn’t as “big” as I thought it would be after reading about it and anticipating it.

Kidman had a confident determined charm throughout the film.

Who said Taylor Swift was going to contend for BSActress?

“Cats” seems to be cat-astrophic… It scores 17% at Rotten Tomatoes with 89 reviews

Kidman was very very good in Bombshell but in my opinion Margot Robbie was outstanding.

All I have are negative thoughts

I’m just gonna say it now before the sweep begins. Maggie Smith in this scene from Downton Abbey is better than anything that Laura Dern does in Marriage Story:

Darlings, Thatcher just watched Bombshell and Barbie Robbie was fantastic! For sure better than Shouty Dern. And Outspoken Kidman also shines. They both are deservedly getting nominated.

As a famous singer said, "ain't nobody gonna Thatcher, Thatcher, Thatcher!"
