I agree. I mean just last year we had a horrible atrocious winner who won for doing nothing.

Lol. You say Regina King winning was atrocious but then you say Laura winning would be fine?! Wow!!!… I really think you need to get your priorities straight.

    They’re both terrible winners.

I was curious to see over the past 82 years how often has a “lone nominee” won in the Supporting Actress category and it’s been 9 times: Mary Astor for The Great Lie, Claire Trevor for Key Largo, Margaret Rutherford for The V.I.P.’s, Goldie Hawn for Cactus Flower, Eileen Heckart for Butterflies Are Free, Linda Hunt for The Year of Living Dangerously, Marisa Tomei for My Cousin Vinny, Angelina Jolie for Girl, Interrupted, and Penelope Cruz for Vicky Cristina Barcelona. So the odds would be against Jennifer Lopez winning, since I don’t think Hustlers will be nominated in any other categories. Her performance is certainly better than Laura Dern’s but that’s true of dozens of actresses this year. Now that I have seen Hustlers the other issue is that Lopez belongs in the lead actress category and not the supporting one. She’s fine but she’s not in my top ten for the year in this category nor in her correct category either.

    1. Laura Dern
    2. Jennifer Lopez
    3. Margot Robbie
    4. Nicole Kidman or Florence Pugh
    5. Zhao Shuzhen or Kathy Bates or Annette Bening

I don’t think Penelope Cruz will get in because J.Lo is going to get in

I mean she is 24, don’t know if she exactly fits the ‘kids’ stat, but I agree with the rest.

And Lucas Hedges was 20, but they were both playing teenagers.

And Lucas Hedges was 20, but they were both playing teenagers.

And Saoirse Ronan is just a year older and also playing a teenager in the same film but got the nomination.

I agree with your assessment, but with her AACTA win and Globe nod, it seems like the passion pick for Little Woman will end up being Ronan and not Pugh as we were expecting. And supporting is a more competitive category than lead IMO, so it’s likely that Ronan makes it but Pugh misses out.

    Let’s get our priorities straight:

    What will Booty wear tonight?

Darling, you say you hate Thatcher but I see you use Thatcherian names… Interesting. I’m proud of you not being my enemy anymore. And yes, Booty will probably slay as always. I’m afraid she’s not getting on stage, as Barbie Robbie is winning this category though. But the golden carpet is hers.

Let’s be real. Margot Robbie is playing a sexual victim! She’s pretty and she has a showier role than Dern and Lopez. She’s winning.

Jennifer Lopez has the Globe in her bag. She’s winning and sweeping.

IDK why I just think Margot is winning the Globe.
