Yes. She still can. Emmys, unlike Critics Choice(who cares about them) and SAG, aren’t sheep. Let’s hope they don’t go with Patricia just because she won the fucking Globe. Besides, there’ll be no vote-split this time.

Won’t Michelle William’s new show also be eligible for Emmy’s this year in this category? Poor Amy lol.

I finally watched “If Beale Street Could Talk” it is a nice film not unlike the previous Barry Jenkin’s film “Moonlight”. I think is a little overrated and I am not very enamored of the screenplay which i find manipulative in some aspects like for example the movie don’t give us any evidence of the innocence of Alonzo but with should be certain that he is in jail without any reason.

Anyway, about Regina King i have to say that she is a great actress who has showed how good she can be in such projects like American Crime or The Leftovers where she was fantastic. This is not one of those performances, she gives a really good performance but in my opinion nothing close to be Oscar worthy. I was expecting some fireworks in her scenes but they never came, even the sequences in Puerto Rico that has gotten her so many raves felt underwhelming to me, actually the portorrican lady is the one that made all the heavy lifting in that part of the movie. I can understand why SAG and BAFTA made a pass on Mrs King.

Having saw all the nominates performances nominated for Actress in a Supporting Role this is how i ranking them in order of preference:

    1-Rachel Weisz…The Favourite
    2-Marina De Tavira….Roma
    3-Emma Stone…The Favourite
4-Regina King….If Beale Street Could Talk
    5-Amy Adams…Vice

FYC: Drama Series: Game of Thrones, Comedy Series: Barry, Limited Series: Chernobyl, Drama Lead Actor: Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul), Drama Lead Actress: Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Drama Directing: Miguel Sapochnik for The Long Night (Game of Thrones), Drama Writing: Jed Mercurio for Episode 1 (Bodyguard)

Whenever Regina King is nominated she wins. I expect her to win tomorrow. She gave a terrific speech at the Indie Spirits!

Fun piece of trivia but if Regina King wins tomorrow, she will be the 5th actress this decade to also win an Emmy in the same decade, following Melissa Leo for Louie in 2013, Anne Hathaway for The Simpsons in 2010, Viola Davis for How to Get Away with Murder in 2015, and Allison Janney for Mom in 2014 and 2015 & Masters of Sex in 2014. If Patricia Arquette wins an Emmy this season for Escape at Dannemora and/or The Act she would join this list.

I think she’s safe with Williams in tow. That woman is just as much a bridesmaid as Amy lol.

Amy Adams will have her six time losing streak tonight! Regina will sweep, even if Rachel got the BAFTA for her work in ‘The Favourite.’

thank God someone’s agrees that she did nothing special. The boy’s mom blew her away in the family meeting scene.

Ermmmmmm you didn’t find the film boring?

Taron Egerton (Rocketman) for best actor. Charlize Theron looks great in Bombshell teaser

I had a dream that Regina won last night but Richard E Grant pulled off the upset- honestly I am torn between switching to Regina or sticking with Weisz.

17 of the anonymous voters voted for King vs 3 for Weisz.

And in 2016, ALL of them voted for Stallone. ALL OF THEM.

With all those ballots, standing ovation and following experts’ choice, I went for Stallone that year. Then, I told myself the only thing that I should trust is the precursor award. But here I am again, predicting Regina King, who is not nominated in SAG and BAFTA. I would be punching myself up and down if Weisz wins tomorrow.
