These three Leading Actor wins are often considered to be supporting performance by some. In my opinion, they are all WELL deserved Oscars. I honestly cannot picture any other actor playing these three roles. Which performance do you prefer out of the three and what do you think about these wins?

Brando’s is the greatest performance, but I don’t consider any of these to be supporting.

Screen time and narrative arc usually inform viewers about whether someone belongs in lead or supporting. None of these wins bother me. I think leading roles in the supporting category are more problematic.

I’d say secondary lead would be the more appropriate term.

Anyway, I voted Brando but it’s very close between him and Hopkins, and I won’t be surprised if I change my mind.

These 3 performances were cake walk winners.

Brando, who had already given legendary performances was able to shock the world with his acting.

Wasn’t Geoffrey Rush – Shine considered borderline supporting by a number of people since his char is played by 3 diff people ala Lion-esque

Forrest Whitaker’s win is very underrated, he’s for me one of the best lead actor winners of all time and just for that I’ll vote for him… Hopkins is the only fraud here, I don’t mind though.

Whitaker’s performance was truly remarkable. Well deserved winner
