Well I don’t find neither of them very talented and I pretty much dislike everything Fassbender do, so I went with McConaughey. It is hard to beat “Killer Joe” or “Bernie”, even “Interstellar” in my book.

McConaughey has had the greatest last 4 years or so, but Fassbender has never had a false step, and is great in everything.

Well, Fassbender doesnt have any bad, romcoms in his filmography; but it’s difficult for me to vote for someone who assaults women.

Pook, tell me about it. Fassy was my favourite actor since Hunger. I have to say in addition to his private trangressions, I didn’t like his performance in 12 Years at all. Way too over the top, totally overshadowing Ejiofor. McQueen is too enamored of him. Also Fassy seems to sign onto any film he gets offered (Jude Law/Ewan McGregor syndrome) which never ends well..

Beyonce, you seem to have missed the McConaissance. McConaughey’s work since 2011:
    The Lincoln Lawyer
    Killer Joe
    Bernie
    Paperboy
    Magic Mike
    Mud
    Wolf of Wall Street
    Dallas Buyers Club
    True Detective
    Interstellar

I can’t recall an actor who has had a string of critically acclaimed performances to rival McConaughey’s incredible roll. He wins by a mile.

The correct answer is “Michael Fassbender.”

Matthew McConnaughey starred in one of the worst, most skeevy movies ever made: Frailty.

Frailty was a great first effort from Bill Paxton. What about The Counselor K-Hole? Didja like that one?

I love Frailty too! I’d never heard of it pre-McConaissance and it was a revelation. Astonishing Paxton never directed another film. That movie was so creepy and the ending was so unnerving. I saw Reign of Fire on TV recently. Never knew that one existed before. Christian Bale wasn’t impressive, but McConaughey as the dragonslayer was a scream.

Yes, The Counselor (the worst movie ever made) definitely cancels out any momentum Fassy got from Jane Eyre. Not to mention, how are X Men movies (and he has now signed on for Assassins’ Creed) superior to romcoms, hmm? Both are trash.

Easy. Michael Fassbender. While McConaughey has done a lot of great work recently, Fassbender has been more consistent imo with only one minor misstep (The Counselor).

Hahaha. Seriously, even if you consider McCounagheys (amazing) last 3 years, its imposible to ignore more than a decade of TOTAL GARBAGE.

Fassbender has a much smaller filmography, but better non the less, if only for consistency.

It would probably make more sense to put McConaughey against someone like Ben Affleck but since he’s up against the great Fassbender, there’s no race here. It’s an easy vote. His performances in Shame and Hunger are better than McConaughey’s entire career… And to think I had to sit through his HORRIBLY OBNOXIOUS speeches last year. This is one of those celebrities who makes it really hard to root for them. People go to the awards shows to drink, receive awards, make some money and smoke pot, not to listen to you douchebag talk about Neptune for almost 5 minutes. Jesus.
