Idk about anyone else but I think that Jake Gylenhal would make a great young F. Scott Fitzgerald.

I’d love to see a biopic on Dinah Washington, whom I consider to be one of the great jazz vocalists ever!  How about Loretta Devine as Dinah?

That would be incredible casting based on looks.  I had a history teacher in high school who was the youngest sister of Dinah Washington.

I’m going to resurrect this topic,,,

    Westboro
    Directed by Steven Soderbergh
I always thought the Westboro Batist Church was an interesting topic (same way David Duke, George Wallace, L. Ron Hubbard, Hitler, etc. are interesting), but I was sure no one would be willing to produce a film based on them out of fear of backlash. But they made Game Change, George Wallace, several Hitler films, and the upcoming Karl Rove film.

This film should take place after 9/11 and should show their bigotry in action.

    Fred Phelps- Bruce Dern
Shirley Phelps- Emma Thompson (or Julianne Moore if she doesn’t mind playing another public enemy)
    Margie Phelps- Mare Winningham
    Nathan Phelps- Billy Gardell

If they directly use Banished as the story, then Shailene Woodley could portray Lauren Drain.

This would probably be a television movie.

I’m still stunned there’s never been a biopic on Albert Einstein. But I guess there hasn’t been one on Newton either, mathematicians might be hard to film stories about.

    I once had this idea:

    Yellow
    Directed by Jay Roach

A film about the origins of The Simpsons and the first few seasons with an emphasis on the clash between Matt Groening and Sam Simon that some claim made the show better. With a sympathetic view of Sam Simon’s contributions to the show, as well as little known writer George Meyer who has written most of the shows best lines.

    Matt Groening: Gionvanni Ribisi
    Sam Simon: Andrew Garfield
    James L. Brooks: Paul Giamatti
    George Meyer: Jason Schwartzman.

I want someone to make a Thomas Edison biopic.

I am sorry for my past behaviour. I am sorry for being a turd. I would like to try and be better.

I.Q., a great film by Fred Schepisi, featured Walter Matthau as Einstein .

I strong desire a moratorium on biopics. They, particularly of late, are one of the lowest and basest forms of cinema, made mainly to be cheap Oscar bait. I fervently desire that there are fewer, not more.

Well I think they’re dying down. Interesting and related note, 4 out of 5 of the best actor nominees are based on real people (and all of the supporting ones are). But none of those movies are typical biopics (Dallas Buyers Club is debatable). Movies based on real people are still being made, but the good ones that get recognition are starting to have an identity of their own.

That’s some of the best casting I’ve heard in awhile.  Hats off to you!

Oftentimes we are given biopics nobody asked for and other times there is a groundswell of moviegoer support for then ( see bohemian rhapsody ). What are five biopics that haven’t made it to the big screen yet that you’d love you see (optional –  and the actor to play the character)
    Here are mine :

Oprah Winfrey- I can imagine this being a Lee Daniels Film , maybe Oprah up to age 35 ( when she made it ). I mean what a story !
Actor to play her: Regina Hall ( it needs to be someone less famous ,  but with serious acting chops , Oprah’s life could be very dark !!!)

JK Rowling – Her life story is actually quite fascinating and she is also an incredibly likeable person

Actor to play her :  Emma Thompson/ Tilda Swinton/ Emily Mortimer

Madonna Biopic- I know one was picked up from the black list but it seemed to have gone nowhere , I think Madonna is a fascinating character and if done properly this could be quite rivetting.

Actor to play her: Sky Ferreira or Dakota Johnson ( I reckon it could work ) or Claire Foy

Mary Pickford – this would be a great period piece , I watched a documentary on Pickford she was a towering figure on Holywood and extremely ahead of her time

Actor to play her : Saoirse Ronan

Aretha Franklin- this would be epic !

Actor to play her: Jennifer Hudson

    amy winehouse – lady gaga

mother teresa – various actresses could play her throughout her life.
