I think Streamers go to Con too. Because I saw 2 Streamers at Con: APPLE TV and Netflix

Looks interesting but not like an Oscar movie. We will see

And it’s also playing at NYFF and almost certainly Telluride so it’s clear UA sees it as an Oscar player.

Also kind of Guadagnino's Nomadland but uh with cannibals roaming around US. Stay away from Mark Rylance if he has a ponytail & fishing vest on. 😂😱 #Venezia79 pic.twitter.com/lQ8QU9FfRO

Bones and All got all the ingredients for a delicious movie meal, with Russell & Chamamlet in this coming-of-age, cannibal road trip film. Arguably, the rawness and messy nature of the plot might have been the intention after all

I adored nearly everything about Bones & All, Guadagnino’s fleshy, extraordinarily romantic ode to selflessness and sacrifice in a world of relentless consumption. Chalamet at his best since CMBYN. I am going to devour it again, and again, and again, and… https://t.co/axqSeG7ks7

There's blood & gristle but also sweetness & heart in Luca Guadagnino's BONES AND ALL, a story of fine young cannibals & first love that deftly blends the director's interests in romance and horror. My @THR review of the #Venezia79 competition entryhttps://t.co/x93b1vrIKX

September 2, 2022 at 2:50 pm #1205063598Mark Rylance was on screen for no more than 20 minutes but he ATE.
The movie is a sweet horror romance, don’t know if Oscar material or not but the audience was over the moon…

September 2, 2022 at 4:54 pm #1205063707Reportedly the film received an 8 and a half minute standing ovation when it ended at Venice. See https://variety.com/2022/film/news/bones-and-all-venice-standing-ovation-timothee-chalamet-bisexual-cannibal-1235337951/ For comparison’s sake, Tar reportedly received a 6 minute standing ovation.
I’m very suspicious about the length of the Venice standing ovations and I don’t think you can read all that much into them when it comes to assessing Oscar chances but I thought this was interesting.

So, Rylance has a chance at the supporting category?

If the movie is embraced, he could be nominated! He outshined everyone (but Chalamet is very good and Russell too), even with a character that is unpleasant. But you’ve never seen Rylance like that before.

The TAR ovation was apparently cut short because the cast just left in the middle of it

Not that these standing ovations matter but they would have been way longer for TAR had the cast not left lmao
