Somewhere execs are saving this to use in the future….March 4, 2013 at 6:41 pm #94415
Well….. he doesn’t get to decide if he gets an oscar or not. The Academy decidesMarcus Snowden (The Artist Formerly Known as msnowden1)ParticipantMarch 4, 2013 at 6:43 pm #94416
Yeah, he’s never going to win an Oscar. The Academy is going to hate that.March 4, 2013 at 7:23 pm #94417
Didn’t Phoenix say something even worse and still get nominated? More empty noise.Marcus Snowden (The Artist Formerly Known as msnowden1)ParticipantMarch 4, 2013 at 7:29 pm #94418
Well, you do have a point there. Marlon Brando declined an Oscar, and he still got nominated like two or three more times.March 4, 2013 at 10:26 pm #94419
Brando and George C. Scott got nominated the year after they turned down their awards. This means nothing.March 4, 2013 at 10:41 pm #94420
Of course Bradley, of course you don’t…
I’m tired of these actors. There is a quote: “Don’t bite the hand that feeds you”. You were a nothing before your Oscar nomination. Now everyone respect you as an Academy Award-nominated actor who worked hard in Silver Linings Playbook and everyone wants to see you in great future projects. I mean you were just the “Hangover” guy with medicore filmography…the Academy built you up!
It might don’t mean nothing to the Academy but it’s disrespectful for me. If they don’t want an Oscar (like Phoenix or Cooper) why the hell did they went to the Oscars? I wouldn’t care about Harvey if I don’t give a shit about the Oscars at all.
Shame on you Bradley. I hope you won’t be nominated ever again.March 4, 2013 at 10:42 pm #94421
He’s dealing with the death and loss of his father. He claimed it changed a lot of his perspectives on life. He wasn’t downing an Oscar- he just said it wouldn’t change anything; nothing controversial about this at all.

Eh, not really an issue. Nothing to be ashamed of. Not sure if anyone can really fault a guy who has his priorities set after the death of a family member.March 5, 2013 at 1:47 am #94423
Sure, Bradley. Sure.
The guy was clearly devastated when he lost Golden Globe, fucking Golden Globe! For sure he doesn’t want Oscar. For sure. LOL!March 5, 2013 at 2:01 am #94424
come on i’ts related of the death of his father!!! it was bad interpreted…..
@jason travis, you totaly wright, not a big deal here and i don’t know why we have a thread about it…….
and he was not clearly devastated whenhe lost GG sorry.
he will be nominated again like for serena,TPBTP or Abscam, he deserve.March 5, 2013 at 6:50 am #94425
Who cares? I, personally, before Silver Linings Playbook, never thought I would see the day where Bradley Cooper even got NOMINATED for an Oscar. I hope he does win one down the road.
And he is dealing with the death of his father. If I was an actor, and my mother died today, I wouldn’t give two shits about winning an Oscar.
What exactly does having an Oscar do, besides sit there and collect dust in your home? It’s never been proven to propel you into a long and succesful film career (Marcia Gay Harden, Renee Zellweger, Catherine Zeta-Jones, etc.).March 5, 2013 at 7:10 am #94426
I don’t think this means much of anything. He’s not dissing the Academy or something extreme like that. If his work merits it, I think Bradley Cooper will be nominated again. “Silver Linings Playbook” changed the game for his career, and if any Academy members bother to read this article, I think in the end it wouldn’t be a huge slight against him.Marcus Snowden (The Artist Formerly Known as msnowden1)ParticipantMarch 5, 2013 at 7:14 am #94427
Yeah, I also didn’t think that Bradley Cooper would ever get an Oscar nomination. When he got SAG and GG nominations, they were talking about as a posiibility, like he really didn’t get any Oscar buzz until the end of last year. Also, I think he will get nominated again. He had TPBTP and Serena, two promising films.
