Kristen Stewart became the first american actress to win a Cesar award for best supporting actress last year. The first time an american actor won this award was in 2002, it was Adrien Brody for The Pianist, and he ended up winning the Oscar a few weeks later. Can Kristen Stewart get an Oscar nomination for Clouds of Sils Maria this year ?

“Multi-layered complexities and stand-out performances make this a rich experience, with Kristen Stewart surprising the most.” -Ed Gibbs (Daily Telegraph)

I tried. Tried last year with still alice, tried this year with clouds of sils Maria, and I can’t see where is her nuances… For me, she is just playing the same character.. Quiet, mouth little open, and sometimes, little awkward smiles. For someone that has seen clouds.. What in her acting called your attention? Was there a scene where you truly got impressed by her acting? I really don’t see it.September 25, 2015 at 7:52 am #194677
Haven’t seen the movie. But Supporting Actress contenders keep falling by the wayside (Ellen Page, Elizabeth Olsen, Helena Bonham Carter, the whole cast of Everest, etc.) so I feel that she does keep moving back up the ranks.September 25, 2015 at 9:36 am #194678
She absolutely deserves a nomination but sadly she doesn’t stand a chance.September 25, 2015 at 11:33 am #194679
I think Twilight has tainted her chances forever.

Sure she could be a good actress, had the skills and the promises, but aside of the thin-to-none chances for Clouds of Sils Maria, I had to say that it’s simply not worthy. I don’t get the fuss over this.September 25, 2015 at 1:26 pm #194681
