She was blackballed by Lee Daniels for not thanking naither the studio nor him on her Oscar speech…in un regards to her Oscar acceptance speech, Mo’Nique tells The Hollywood Reporter that Precious director Lee Daniels said: “she didn’t thank the producers and she didn’t thank the studio. And that’s just not things that you do”.

Mo’Nique thanked Lee Daniels on many occasions during her awards run for “Precious,” so the implication that she wasn’t appreciative of him or Lions Gate is completely false.

In all fairness to Renee Zellweger, I think this time she’s really not as bothered. The first career slump for Renee was severe. In Kidmans case though, I’d argue that although some projects were hit and miss – she was always in demand and continued to do some really interesting projects that people respected!

There’s an argument for Faye Dunaway that it wasn’t actually a post Oscar decline, but a post ‘Mommie Dearest’ decline.

Mo’Nique was blacklisted because she decided to continue working on her late night talk show instead of attending international film festivals. Saying she completed what was required in her contract so if they wanted her to miss work they would need to compensate her.

Yea it seems like Renee is semi retired and only will do something if a project peaks her interest same with Joe Pesci

Kidman didn’t have a career decline from 2004-2015. Sure all of her films may not have hit the mark, but she was still working steady and getting loads of roles with a lot of critical acclaim for them.

Kodi is just one of those guys who just do niche stuffs (FoX-Men and Apes are exception) and doesnt have that much of media exposure, at least compared to his contemporaries like Timothee and Tom.
