nah. liza was just getting started in the early 70s when she won her oscar. she went on to become a broadway AND hollywood legend, despite not having many other big film roles after cabaret.

Kodi is just one of those guys who just do niche stuffs (FoX-Men and Apes are exception) and doesnt have that much of media exposure, at least compared to his contemporaries like Timothee and Tom.

god i hope when he wins an oscar it helps his career and become like timothee

Alicia needs to get a new agent and do less period films. The story of Henry VIII and his wives has been done so many times:

Oscar-winning star Alicia Vikander will keep her head when she portrays the last of Henry VIII’s six wives in a new film about the perils of being wed to the much-married monarch.

Vikander will share the screen, and the throne, with Jude Law as the King.

Producer Gabrielle Tana told me last night that she’s thrilled to have signed Vikander to play Katherine Parr in the psychological thriller Firebrand, based on Elizabeth Freemantle’s best-selling historical novel Queen’s Gambit.

‘You can see why we’re not able to use that title,’ Tana joked, alluding to the Netflix phenomenon The Queen’s Gambit, which starred Anya Taylor-Joy. Firebrand is basically ‘a portrait of a marriage, and of survival’, the film-creative explained.

And Brazilian screen artist Karim Ainouz, who made the film The Invisible Life — a sensation at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival — will make his English language debut when he directs the picture on UK locations this spring.

I’m so disappointed by Vikander’s subsequent career. She’s an excellent actress that had a once promising filmography. Puzzling.

I think that there is far too much pressure when it comes to post-Oscar success.

I don’t think Brie Larson qualifies seeing as how she didn’t have much of a career prior to her Oscar win. Being a major player in the MCU is a big upgrade to where she was pre-Room.

She absolutely qualifies. Everyone and their mother have a franchise these days. You don’t have to be an Oscar winner for that. Heck, unlike other MCU leads, she is already downgraded to a co-star in her own franchise that is now a 3-lead show (including a girl who had no acting experience prior to Ms Marvel/The Marvels). Also, no prestige roles since her win. All she does is crashing in her BFFs movies as a cameo or doing SFX movies were the star is SFX. I see some argue that Jennifer Lawrence suffered a post-Oscar slump but if garnering 2 more Oscar nominations is a slump than what is Larson, Oscar sudoku?
