Is Catherine Martin (“Elvis”) the first ever costume designer / production designer to be nominated for Best Picture? She is listed as a producer and nominee for “Elvis;” she previously won Oscars for designing costumes and sets for “Moulin Rouge” and “The Great Gatsby.”
What a fascinating combination of trophies she can possibly win. But surely she’s the first ever from those disciplines nominated for Best Picture?
