i saw the whole show online, that was absolutely awesome, jerome commandeur, the host did a great job for his 1st appearance at the ceremony, but iwas a little bit surprised and disappointed by the winners, 5 films won several awards DIVINES won respectively, best debut film, most promising actress and best supporting actress IT’S ONLY THE END OF THE WORLD, won best editing, best director and best actor, these 2 films were the most rewarded with 3 Césars each the favorite ELLE won just 2, best Picture and best actress… so it was a little weird with 11 nominations at the beginning, but i am so happy that Huppert won another César, only her 2nd on 16 nominations.

I was thrilled with the wins for Elle and It’s Only The End Of The World but not so happy with the wins for Divines and Chocolat. I wanted Laurent Lafitte to win Best Supporting Actor or Vincent Cassel would have been a great choice too; and I was rooting for Nathalie Baye for Supporting Actress. Most Promising Actor was disappointing: Schneider was fine but Kacey Mottet Klein and Damien Bonnard were both superb in their movies. Slack Bay went 0 for 9 and From The Land Of The Moon went 0 for 8.

French-Canadian Xavier Dolan won 2 Cesars! Best Director and Best Film Editing! (:

And of course: Isabelle Huppert won her 2nd Cesar!!!!! She is now 2 for 16! I wonder if she was able to get a flight out yesterday and might be at the Spirit awards today? I have a bad feeling they will go for Natalie Portman instead of Isabelle; the only reason I think so is because the Spirits really liked Jackie, nominating it for Best Feature and Best Director as well as Best Actress ): I am rooting for Isabelle for the Spirit award and for the Oscar!!!!!! (:

The big disgrace at the Cesars was Xavier Dolan winning all those awards. He’s a disgusting hack and his latest movie was insulting

Dolan winning over Verhoeven is laughable.

Huppert’s victory was quite predictable, but still awesome.

And this… Best Supporting Actor: James Thierree, Chocolat. Just loved it. SO deserving.
