A biographical film about Cher is in the works at Universal Pictures. Eric Roth, the Oscar-winning screenwriter behind Forrest Gump, is writing the script. Cher herself is producing this project alongside Judy Craymer and Gary Goetzman, the producers of the Mamma Mia! films.

I know we are tired, but Cher is absolutely a legend and her story totally deserves a biopic. Excited for this one.
Couldn’t care less for the Madonna and Elvis ones

A Cher biopic would work better as a miniseries. But nevertheless this film better be a campy glitzy gay ‘ol time. Bob Mackie needs to do the costumes. They’ll probably cast an unknown in the lead role.

Stephanie J. Block played Cher in the The Cher Show musical. Really good performance. Wonder if she’s return for the biopic. Probably, unlikely, but still.

• FYC: Everything Everywhere All at Once in any and every single category, especially Best Picture, Michelle Yeoh in Actress, Stephanie Hsu in Supporting Actress, The Daniels in Director/Screenplay, Paul Rogers in Editing, and Son Lux in Score.

At this point, I hope it turned out with the likes of Mommie Dearest. A campy Cher biopic with over-the-top lead performance, bad supporting players, and dozens of quotable lines is too good to be true.
