According to IMDB, Bale has no movies in the near future. I tried to search every where, but cannot find any info about what is going on. Is he taking a break or something?September 17, 2019 at 4:03 pm #1203083141
word is according to UK press is that he’s “retiring” from acting….

The man is owed a second Oscar for consistently delivering across his career and Vice was the perfect opportunity.September 18, 2019 at 12:16 pm #1203084850
He was quoted as saying it “wasn’t fun anymore”. lol.
My hunch is, he’ll be back…

Maybe this is just a ploy to increase Oscar buzz for his performance in FvF ala Phantom Thread, The Mule, The Old Man and the Gun, etc.

I hope not because he is an excellent actor!September 18, 2019 at 4:56 pm #1203085503
It’s a bit early for him to retire tbh.September 18, 2019 at 5:15 pm #1203085539
Yes, he’s talented. Probably will miss him. But more importantly, I need to complete my collection with his best shirtless and booty scenes. Dude helped me clarify some things back in the day.September 18, 2019 at 5:40 pm #1203085563
I don’t think he’s actually gonna retire. Maybe he won’t do something new for a little while, but he’ll be back at some point. I can potentially see him as a sort of Daniel Day Lewis, only appearing in a new film once in a while. Which in all honesty is a good thing for Bale. He shouldn’t keep morphing his body into new shapes as he hops from role to role. That’s not healthy.
I really hope he doesn’t retire. He’s too good to quit at such a young age, even if he’s already accomplished quite a bit.September 18, 2019 at 5:45 pm #1203085573
Bale is going to retire just like Soderbergh did.

He’s an intense personality. Maybe time away from the business is beneficial to his material health?

Time off would be good for his body. With all the weight gain n loss that he does. I’m sure , if he likes a script he will do it. Time off it’s good.September 18, 2019 at 6:47 pm #1203085630
I assume that he is just spacing out his work more in the style of Leonardo DiCaprio, who has starred in only two movies since 2013 and is two years from his next.September 18, 2019 at 11:08 pm #1203085946
I don’t think he is doing it for Oscar attention. He very well knows that best he can get out of Ford vs Ferrari is Supporting Actor win.
He is a intense method actor who has tested his body alot and now it shows on his face, maybe he want a clear time 5-6 yrs with his family and return a more easy and picky actor in his 50s.
He is a terrific actor and it will be truly sad to see him not in movie anymore.
