My personal favorite is The Insider, but there are many, many close seconds.

Another performance that I haven’t seen mentioned here is Jesus of Nazareth. This scene alone seals the deal. That, along with his voice-over performance in Rock-A-Doodle, makes me wonder why they never at least considered him to play the Joker at one point.
