    Bridesmaids, definitely.

Mean Girls deserved a screenplay nom, it’s so timeless.

What do you think? I think The Hangover, Bridesmaids, Horrible Bosses and Spy should’ve been nominated during their respective years.

I second The Hangover and Spy.

I’d give Mean Girls the win for best picture, adapted screenplay and supporting actress with additional nominations in actress and supporting actress (for Chabert)

It seems that only the rubbish from the 2000s is mentioned here.

Mean Girls? Bridemaids? The Hangover???? Really???

Everyone can have their own opinion, but there are really classics that were overlooked for an oscar.

    – His Friday Girl
    – Someone like it hot

and my favourite one, who was not even nominated for anything
    – Bringing up Baby. (Kate Hepburn + Cary Grant + Baby (that lovely leopard))

And many many of Brothers Max films…

When Harry Met Sally… should have triumphed over Driving Miss Daisy.

Anything from Lubitsch, or really quite a lot of the pre-Code comedy output from Hollywood, anything from Stillman, most of Verhoeven’s filmography, Gone GirlClueless, the entire Before trilogy, half of Baumbach’s work, The Young Girls of Rochefort, and about half of the New Wave to go along with it, A New LeafIshtar, the films of John Waters, the work of Lucrecia Martel, the work of Maren Ade, the work of many contemporary women directors in world cinema who strive to undermine existing structures, Hong Sang-soo’s comedies of toxicity, the social commentary of Edward Yang in Mahjong and A Confucian Confusion, Robert Altman!

    Et cetera.

I think they should instate a rule saying there has to be at least 1 Comedy film nominated in the best Picture category (like the multi cam directing rule at the Emmys)

FYC Oscars- Little Women, Saoirse Ronan, Joaquin Phoenix, Scarlett Johansson/Florence Pugh

FYC EMMYS- Schitts Creek, Dead to Me/ THE MORNING SHOW, Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Gugu Mbatha Raw, Killing Eve
