You’re contradicting yourself.
Oh I meant in original screenplay lol 😂 I correct myself on that , I don’t think there was vote splitting between LP and wpiw it is just the academy went to the safe choice

Ex Machina for Visual Effects
One of the most inspired winners of the 2010s. Also probably the biggest upset of that decade statistically, both in precedent and in odds.

Is this even controversial? Also who else did people think deserved to win in that category?

I wanted Meryl Streep to win for Into the Woods
Which might just be an unpopular opinion.

This win makes absolutely no sense to me. Mad Max Fury Road should have won this Oscar by miles.
ReplyCopy URLApril 19, 2022 at 9:31 pm #1204924381Ex Machina got all this praise early on and kept building, and I thought Oh no it’s going to win for the same thing I saw in A.I.only not as good. And to add more aggravation the screenplay is old hat.
Didn’t care for that win.

Probably the first time I didn’t finish to watch a film, such a boring movie, The Talented Mr Ripley is Anthony Mingella best film

I second this. Honestly, you can say what you want about the movie itself, but Berry is astronomically great in it. What a strong batch of nominees that year, but I think they chose the best.
