Steven Ogg is a rising star. He first came to prominence as the voice of Trevor Phillips in Grand Theft Auto V, and is currently one of the leads in The Walking Dead.

But does he have what it takes to become an A-lister if he ever decides to transition to film? Having looked at his other work, I would say “yes.”

I previously attempted to post this topic with a series of YouTube clips showing his work, but it was taken down “for moderator approval” because I guess I posted too many links.  So I’m gonna have to ask you to look up his work yourself on YouTube. Type in “steven ogg” followed by any of the following titles:

    Better Call Saul

    Broad City

    Blackwell

    He Never Died

    Unforgettable

    Murdoch Mysteries

    The Escort

    Disgrace (easily his best performance)

    GTA V

    GTA VR

    The Walking Dead

Ogg is a pretty talented and dynamic physical actor. I could see him doing spectacularly well in Tom Hardy roles (ironically, his GTA V motion capture work was based off of Tom Hardy’s Bronson). However, he’s not got a strong profile in Hollywood, so he needs to develop strong character based work to get more respect. As he is, he’s got a ton of potential at his older age.

Actually, I see Ogg as a Michael Shannon type as much as (if not more so than) a Tom Hardy type. Can you imagine Ogg and Shannon sharing the screen? Things would get absolutely real, especially if their characters are opposed to each other.

He’s certainly got the correct sort of energy for Shannon roles.

Posting a post here to resurrect this dead topic after no replies in the past 24 hours. Will do this one more time after no responses within 24 hours and then I’ll assume the topic is dead. That means for now it’s still alive. LOL

Third and final “keeping it alive” post to bring it at the top so people can see it. After this, I’ll rely only on other people’s replies to keep it at the top.
