I cannot find any information about who or what this group is so…someone just let me know when it’s time for real critics groups to start announcing, thanks.
This is a group of 6 people that includes Sasha Stone lmao.

So-called “real critics” are just journalists/writers. It’s not like they’re some kind of elite industry insiders. Oh and, Sasha Stone is the OG when it comes to analyzing Oscar stats and trends.
December 1, 2020 at 6:25 pm #1203888413I mean, all of our big contenders got a mention tonight so that was cute I guess

It has strong reviews though. Could very easily win GG. Specially considering it has better reviews and buzz than most of the contenders in there.
December 1, 2020 at 6:37 pm #1203888429Amy and Glenn being runner ups even at the Sunset Awards…I can’t. Always bridesmaids, never the brides lol

I don’t think 74/100 is enough for PYW to get Best Picture traction anywhere. Green Book and The Revenant did with reviews in this range but we all know what were the narratives behind these movies
This said, Comedy/Musical is pretty barren this year so who knows

I’m not predicting PYW to get BP traction anywhere outside of GG. Comedy/Musical is pretty dead, like you said, so it could win by default.
December 1, 2020 at 6:52 pm #1203888473I am fascinated by Glenn Close in lead. I wonder whether category confusion will happen with the Close campaign.
For Your Consideration:
Best Picture: Wolfwalkers
Best Animated Feature: Wolfwalkers

Please tell me you’re joking…

Yeah, the road is pretty clear tbh. No OUATIH, La La Land, Get Out, Lady Bird etc in sight
The way The French Dispatch would have won so easily if released this year 💀
