two you mean. Laurie Metcalf won over Allison Janney.

NYFCC will announce December 8 or 18 (I don’t remember the exact day but I think it’s one of these two).

The Sunset Circle is composed of six members of the Hollywood awards circuit circle-jerk press, one of whom is Sasha Stone. Lol.

Damn it I was trying to change history (jk I just made a mistake lol)!

And Lead Actor winners from WFCA have failed to get a nomination at the Oscars.

    Steven Yeun win?

    Steven Yeun win?

Steven Yeun was supporting in Burning and he wasn’t even nominated by them.

I just checked and you’re actually right. I got confused. I thought Chiwetel Ejiofor had won there for Dirty Pretty Things (he was only nominated).

Maybe HE will be a one hit wonder with the critics?

And why is Glenn Close in the lead?

Very intrigued to see how Ahmed and Mulligan do. I have a feeling we’re underestimating their films for Best Picture (or at least what I mean by that is that I think they could be films that get multiple nominations and just miss out on Picture).

One should never underestimate Amazon and if we’re considering Never Rarely Sometimes Always because of its distributor power I don’t see why we shouldn’t consider Promising Young Woman to be at least in the top 15 (I personally don’t see it getting the BP nom) considering its the priority of that same distributor.

My predictions for what wins the key precursor awards (it probably is worth baring in mind how some of these precursors should be tread with caution. I think Seyfried or whomever wins Boston would be the frontrunner out of all the films that have been released but we should keep an eye out for someone like Jodie Foster upsetting later on).

Boston Film Critics Supporting Actress – Amanda Seyfried (Spoiler: Olivia Colman)
Chicago Film Critics Picture – Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom (Spoiler: The Father)

I wouldn’t give too much credit to the Boston Society of Film Critics. Sometimes they can go mainstream and other times go completely left field.

Does anyone have a schedule on the smaller critic awards? I can’t find anything.

I remember a few years ago, someone posted all the dates of literally every critic group and award show on the first page of the thread and they would update it every time they learned about a new date. I don’t know if we’ll ever see that again but that was pretty cool.

Dear Gold Derby, please add Ibrahima Gueye to the prediction center 🙂

    Yeah.

I’m predicting Seyfried there for now but I wouldn’t say it means she’s a lock for the win if she wins. As I said Jodie Foster or whomever else is coming in January/February could surprise.

It’s absolutely hilarious how HE stans on this forum are insisting that “critics obviously hated it because they’re silly SJWs!1!!1” but then there’s also this? Who would have guessed that “critics” are not a monolith and just normal individuals with their own tastes and preferences.
