01. Mad Max: Fury Road — George MillerNovember 19, 2019 at 5:15 am #1203186433Love seeing Mad Max Fury Road at the top of all these lists. I’ve had so many people over the last 4 years tell me that film was overrated. They’re entitled to their opinion, but it’s still my favorite film of all time.

Same. I also had people telling me that Charlize didn’t deserve even a sniff of Oscar attention.
Didn’t matter to them that it was George Miller, although one came back at me saying that George just made cheesy movies, or that John Seale came out of retirement just to work with him again.
Just blanked on any perspective. It was really really nice seeing it win
6 Oscars.ReplyCopy URLDo Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?

November 19, 2019 at 12:35 pm #1203188177Looks like mad max, social network and moonlight are going to be the consensus top 3.
And here are my hot takes… Films towards the top I’m happiest about: Hereditary, a separation, blade runner 2049. Florida project is the most overrated film by a lot. Irishman, birdman and three billboards are snubbed

November 19, 2019 at 2:02 pm #1203188439In my opinion, La La Land is wayyyyy too low on all these lists. Some lists I’ve seen don’t even include it. Sad.

Yeah, I cheered for every single one of those 6 Oscars. It deserved more. I never expected to to win Picture, but the Director and Cinematography snubs were baffling, just because they wanted to reward Innartu and Lubetski again. I was actually expecting The Force Awakens to win Visual Effects, and was shocked when Ex Machina beat them both.
