Horrible show. Insanely boring. And Brendan Fraser (a mess), Ke Huy Kuan (on the verge of Sally Fielding it), Sheryl Lee Ralph and Cate Blanchett (then don’t come, darling) need to cool it with those overblown over the top long ass pompous speeches. My God, when even Jennifer Coolidge was like “fuck it, thank you, bye.”

January 16, 2023 at 10:08 am #1205248094Not a chance in hell. Endgame was a generational event, the payoff after nearly 20 movies before it. And it delivered. A movie shouldn’t be punished in Oscar season for making too much money.
If EEAAO wins best picture, it is actually good for a box office winner. It made over 100 million on a 15 million dollar budget. It didn’t need a 350 million dollar budget to perform well.

I understand her doing Critics Choice since voting is still on but she doesn’t need to do any campaigning after that.
Anyways this is all hyperbole
no offence but i will never undertand the buzz about cate blanchett specially with the lesbian comunity puting her as some sort of lesbian icon
ReplyCopy URLJanuary 16, 2023 at 12:21 pm #1205248336campaigning may not be entirely her choice. Contracts usually spell out in advance what kind of campaigning or promotion the actors must do. Moreover Cate may not want the attention but there are several hundreds of crew members who are part of the film who may want the accolades for various reasons.
Doing promotion tours for the film are standard. Cate is a big enough star to not attend award ceremonies, if she wanted. She wants to win, the whole act is kind of ridiculous. She did the same thing during Blue Jasmine.
exactly THANK YOU

I believe she was present for the cast and crew of TAR more than for herself. She may not need the accolades but I’m sure the others were thrilled.

Hypocritical bullshit and shows off as if she’s morally above all others”

ReplyCopy URLJanuary 16, 2023 at 1:43 pm #1205248433Well a low-hanging explanation is that they didn’t want to support the globes.

Seyfried was “working on a new musical” and Blanchett was gearing up for the UK premiere of Tár which was this week.
No idea about Roberts.

Seyfried was in NYC workshopping a musical version of Thelma and Louise in which Evan Rachel Wood may co-star. Callie Khouri is writing the book for the musical with Haley Feiffer, singer-songwriter Neko Case is creating the score, with Scott Delman producing.
