Makeup can’t hide the fact that Leo is in his 40s. Unless you suggest CGI’s makeup.

I dont know dude,I have seen OUTIH recently in theatres for 3 times and it is not like Leo’s face look super old.I mean he have a baby face, only need to shed some pounds and he can play the part in my opinion.

Thanks for bumping up this thread!

An adapted screenplay from someone who was around when this was going down.

Seyfried finally coming for some overdue awards recognition, and I’m so here for it.

    Tom Burke is Orson Welles

Yes. He was excellent in The Souvenir and probably a lot of other stuff. He’s 38 but could easily read as a much younger person who “looks older.”

Does Fincher still hate Alien 3?

    I think he does unfortunately.

Don’t see how that’s unfortunate. It’s sad that he doesn’t care for his work, but Alien 3 is bad. Whoever thought it was a good idea to completely undo Aliens’ perfect ending?

I like Seyfried, but I don’t think I’d call her overdue, as I don’t think she’s had any performances that were particularly awards worthy.

This film feels like a bit out of Fincher’s lane. Surely, he did straight up dramas in the past but even his most drama film TCCOBJ contained thriller/fantasy elements. I’m not sure how he is going to handle this project while adding his favorite and typical elements. Was there any scandal around the screenwriter of Citizen Kane?

I love Alien 3. Fincher elevated a cynical studio cash grab into something worthy of repeat visits and evaluation.

That’s mainly because of the roles she’s been given. I meant overdue in that sense, as in she deserves good roles in films with great directors.

    Oh, lordy…

First of all, he was an acquaintance of William Randolph Hearst (he was friends with Marion Davies’ nephew) and frequent guest at Sam Simeon (the inspiration for Kane and Xanadu) and many people believe his treatment by Hearst was an inspiration for the depiction of Kane.

Second, there have been various reports claiming that he was the true genius behind the screenplay of “Citizen Kane”, and he loved to claim it as well.

Third, he was a barely functional alcoholic.

There’s more, but I can’t cover it all here.

What is Seyfried’s role as Davies like?

Also initially Mankiewicz wasn’t supposed to receive any credit for his work on that screenplay at all, only Welles, but he put up a fight and was credited. The screenplay went on to win Oscar. There was lots of drama.
