DiCaprio turned down Boogie Nights

DiCaprio has one of the greatest filmographies of all time. I think only Tom Cruise, Joaquin Phoenix and Matt Damon are in DiCaprio highest level

Anyway, I have the unpopular opinion that PTA is overrated as a director and the also unpopular opinion (maybe less so?) that DiCaprio is an incredibly overrated actor so this pairing fits. Will still be interested to see it if it is indeed happening.

Yeah. If DiCaprio wanted to do something more independent and elevate a more indie director, with a project that is promise over pedigree for once, I’d be so glad to see it. His picks are just so boring.
Also, hasn’t the rumor of a DiCaprio/PTA collab been ongoing forever now? Maybe this one is actually real but I feel like I’ve read this rumor every time there’s information on a new PTA film about to drop.

Yeah, is like he desperately wants a second Oscar, so boring.
ReplyCopy URLDecember 15, 2022 at 7:56 pm #1205197084I personally think LDC is overrated, and this actor and director pairing doesn’t interest me. I guess him working with PTA was just a matter of time. For those who don’t know: LDC’s dad-George DiCaprio-was in Licorice Pizza. He played a water bed salesman.

He may lack unpredictibility in his choices, but his dedication to his craft has been magnificent for three decades.
The only period of him I don’t like that much is the mid 2000’s to Django Unchained, in the exception of Revolutionary Road. Very intense and spectacular acting but kind of repetitive (worried fronthead, lot of screaming). Getting old is the best thing that is happening to him because he’s come to a point he doesn’t have to prove something anymore. He was fantastic in OUATIH, and Don’t look Up might be a minor movie in his filmography but I think he was excellent in it. Totally believable as a scientist and moving. He’s more natural and fits his parts as he did in his pre-Titanic years.

I do have the same opinion, Licorice Pizza is in my top 10 of the worst movies released last year and Boogie Nights is just not my taste. Outside of that, I find him a little bit pretentious and the whole Fiona Apple situation does not help at all.
ReplyCopy URLDecember 16, 2022 at 11:11 pm #1205198587I forgot Adam Driver. Adam Driver worked with Ridley Scott, Spielberg, Scorsese, Michael Mann and Francis Ford Coppola. Perfect filmography like Joaquin Phoenix, Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon and Tom Cruise
