Wow. DiCaprio worked with Ridley Scott, Clint Eastwood, Scorsese, Spielberg, Tarantino, Nola and now Paul Thomas Anderson

Anyway, I have the unpopular opinion that PTA is overrated as a director and the also unpopular opinion (maybe less so?) that DiCaprio is an incredibly overrated actor so this pairing fits. Will still be interested to see it if it is indeed happening.
ReplyCopy URLI would love to see DiCaprio in an independent movie with a director like Eggerts, he rarely takes risks. Bale, Hardy and Phoenix take more risks than him.
Yeah. If DiCaprio wanted to do something more independent and elevate a more indie director, with a project that is promise over pedigree for once, I’d be so glad to see it. His picks are just so boring.
Also, hasn’t the rumor of a DiCaprio/PTA collab been ongoing forever now? Maybe this one is actually real but I feel like I’ve read this rumor every time there’s information on a new PTA film about to drop.

ReplyCopy URLWaow, you guys are rude… I can tell you the buddy has no equivalent in France… He’s one of your national treasures for god’ sake. He may lack unpredictibility in his choices, but his dedication to his craft has been magnificent for three decades.
The only period of him I don’t like that much is the mid 2000’s to Django Unchained, in the exception of Revolutionary Road. Very intense and spectacular acting but kind of repetitive (worried fronthead, lot of screaming). Getting old is the best thing that is happening to him because he’s come to a point he doesn’t have to prove something anymore. He was fantastic in OUATIH, and Don’t look Up might be a minor movie in his filmography but I think he was excellent in it. Totally believable as a scientist and moving. He’s more natural and fits his parts as he did in his pre-Titanic years.

I do have the same opinion, Licorice Pizza is in my top 10 of the worst movies released last year and Boogie Nights is just not my taste. Outside of that, I find him a little bit pretentious and the whole Fiona Apple situation does not help at all.
