My definition is: any film or performer who is 3rd, 4th or 5th in the Goldderby odds as of right now.

I only have one: Colin Farrell for Best Actor. I would not have predicted him before he won the Goldderby film award but I have a strong hunch that win is indicative of a potential for the same thing to happen at the Oscars: two frontrunners get lots of votes but many voters go their own way and vote for Farrell because they honesty think his is the best performance, combined with the likelihood that Banshees is the second favorite film of all the nominees and the fact that Jeff Bridges was the last Best Actor winner in a non-BP nominated film and the fact that the academy shies away from giving younger male actors Oscar gold (Butler fits this criteria) – my only caveat is that Butler does have the biopic stat going for him. They sure love impersonations, don’t they?

Otherwise I have 20 predictions that are currently in 1st place in the predictions. My other two predictions are in 2nd place (Condon and An Irish Goodbye). I think Banshees and EEAAO are in a statistical tie for Original Screenplay?

So do you have any “no guts, no glory” predictions for Sunday???

I’m playing it quite safe this year, so my only prediction meeting your criteria is The Martha Mitchell Effect for Documentary Short Subject.

I actually have that one in second place and do think it could win. I am predicting The Elephant Whisperers, mainly because the camera work, editing and music are so incredibly cinematic.

The Elephant Whisperers is my second place – really feeling like it will be one of those two.

    All the Breathes for Documentary

The Elephant Whisperers for Documentary Short

The former is out of question, but I am optimistic about the other one
