No. You can only watch so many movies and you shouldn’t sit through something just because it has an acting nomination, especially when you consider how many all time greats don’t get their actors nominated.

    Been doing that since 2016-2017

Overall I watched 184/454 of the Best Actress nominees and 127/384 of the Best Supp Actress. Long way to go 💀

Wow! That’s a lot. This month I watched: (nominees, not films, so, per example, Bullets Over Broadway was considered twice in the S. Actress category.)

    BP: 9
    BD: 9
    Screenplay: 12
    Actress: 11
    Actor: 8
    S. Actress: 10
    S. Actor: 7
    Foreign: 1

My goal is to watch every nominee available ever in these 9 categories. I’m 18 and I hope to have finished all of these by 35.

Um not all of them, but as many as I can… my current numbers :
    122/441 Best Actor nominees
    177/441 Best Actress nominees

Lemme calculate how many BA I watched but I think it is a very small number.

Ok I just did the counting: 53/441 only!

Eh, not a priority but I have a lot of fun with actresses. Men can choke. So far: 196 best actress nominees and 107 actors.

Wow! 196 actresses. You are going to finish soon then.

I agree with you. The actresses races are SO MUCH better than the male races.

Maybe around the time the Oscars turn 100 I will sit down and watch every Best Picture winner, one per evening, in chronological order. But I’m not even sure I have the inclination to watch every acting winner, let alone nominee. There are just too many great movies from around the globe that were never remotely on the Academy’s radar for that to be a worthwhile endeavor for me. Cinema >>>>> Oscar. And life is too short.

I think all the films since the 50/60s are not that hard to watch, before that it could be a little more difficult. There is one BP nominee which is lost – this makes me so sad! 🙁 – and another BP nominee that we can only watch after asking for an appointment at UCLA (when I go to LA it will be my first priority!)

There are probably some lost films nominated only for acting as well but I’m not quite sure.

I want to watch all Actress and Supporting Actress nominees. Some movies are hard to find, but I don’t lose hope. So far I’ve seen all nominees since 1973 and a bunch of earlier ones. No way I’m gonna have time (nor do I care that much) for other categories.

Good to know there’s some many other weirdos with similar projects though:)
