Do you think Jack Nicholson will ever come out of retirement for a final great role in a great film before dying???

I can’t believe he would accept his last film to be that James L Brooks forgotten rom com in which he has a minor unremarkable appearance.

And don’t tell me he’s too old since Anthony Hopkins is his same age and still active in the industry and manages to get a great role like The Father.

So what do you think?? Vote and comment.

He’s the same age as Hopkins, but seems significantly less robust. Plus there are rumors about his memory.

This is up to himself so it’s a meaningless discussion/question.

The Oscar snub is one thing, but I am baffled by his SAG snub for The Departed.

Probably not. I think it was reported that the reason why the “Toni Erdmann” role never happened was b/c Nicholson has problems with memorizing scripts now.

At this point, probably not. It’d be nice to see him do one or two more films, but if not, at least his legacy is already secure.

Yeah, i heard too about Toni Erdmann and the memory problems. It’s a shame, i wish he had his Phantom Thread, his last great role and film, but i guess he doesn’t need it.

As an actor he has probably the greatest filmography ever displayed in cinema history (maybe only Robert DeNiro and James Stewart equal him in that regard). He doesn’t need to prove anything to anyone anymore.

It depends on his health, really. I believe the motivation is still there

It would be great but I think it would be distressing for him/his legacy if he wasn’t in good health and put himself through it. I heard he has issues with dementia or something related, so I’m glad he’s not doing it if it’s not right for him anymore, it’s sometimes better to remember people as they were.
