Athough I was rooting for Carey Mulligan, Frances McDormand deserves every Oscar she got.

    Absolutely not.

I mean she has only two other great films/performances outside of her 3 wins, Burn after Reading and Blood Simple. And both of those are her husband’s movies and likely why she got those roles at all. Absolutely shambles of a career for someone with 3 oscars.

Obviously not. 1996 should have gone to Emily Watson, 2017 to Ronan and 2020 to Mulligan (yikes).

Streep didn’t deserve those three either but you can make a case that she deserved for The Bridges of Madison County, A Cry in the Dark and Silkwood, so I can sleep at night knowing she has three.

I’m fine with DDL and his three, though I would have gone with Phoenix in 2012.

Mulligan should have won this year and Robbie should have won in 2017 but Frances McDormand is indeed worthy of three acting Oscars.

FYC Emmys: "The Crown" in all categories, "I May Destroy You" in all categories, "It's a Sin" in all categories, "Small Axe" in all categories, Billie Piper ("I Hate Suzie"), Yvonne Strahovski ("Stateless") and Ruth Wilson ("His Dark Materials")

Hillary Swank and Renee Zellweger are two-time winners while Glenn Close has yet to win something. Legendary status is not measured by Oscar wins, so this is a stupid question.

    Absolutely Not.

Three Oscars for playing Frances McDormand. The Oscars have become a joke.

Hell no. She’s good but have absolutely no range. Being good at playing one type of role is not good acting.

    Absolutely.

Her performances in Mississippi Burning, Fargo, Almost Famous, Three Billboards, Olive Kitteridge (which she would have won the Oscar for, were it a movie), and Nomadland are all Oscar-worthy. I am also incredibly confident that she will hit it out of the park with Macbeth as well.

So yes, she deserves to be a 3-time Oscar winner. The filmography warrants it.

She should have won 2 Oscars for it.

Wait until she finally delivers the performance you all are asking for in Tragedy of Macbeth and becomes the frontrunner again.

I didn’t want her to win last night but the answer to your question is a resounding yes.

She could play Justin Bieber in a biopic and people would still complain that she’s always playing the same role.

The fact that McDormand has three more acting oscars than Glenn Close even though Close is ten times the actor is a travesty and no, she should not have three Oscars.

Eh. I rewatched Secrets & Lies after she won for Nomadland and i forgot how amazing Brenda Blethyn was and should’ve won over McDormand’s Marge in Fargo. The Nomadland win was completely deserved though.
