    What is the release date for it? The trailers keep on saying “September” but which day in September? I am giddy with excitement! I will be first in line for it! (:

    This movie smells fan service. I don’t see above the line Oscar nods happening. Something like Deadwood which flopped at the Emmys. Only, TV movie is a different story.

    I’m a big fan of Downton Abbey. Although I like the film to get Oscar nominations but it’s fine if it will not. I will still watch the movie regardless.

    Thanks for the information. I have to wait all the way until the 20th, bummer! (;

    Darlings, Oldie Smith is getting a nod at the BAFTAs and that’s it. She’s not winning for the same role she has been playing for years. She already has 2 dildos and that’s more than enough for her rusty vagina.

    This isn’t exactly a year without period contenders, so a movie reliant on a TV show and attached fanservice doesn’t seem like an Oscars contender. Maybe for costume designs. There will be lovely gowns.

    For Your Consideration:

    Best Picture: Weathering With You, Parasite, The Lighthouse
    Best Supporting Actor: Willem Dafoe - The Lighthouse
    Best Animated Feature: Weathering With You, Promare
    Best International Film: Weathering With You, Parasite

    I think the naysayers have agendas and will be surprised. This one is going to be well regarded by older academy voters. I am sick of this stupid “fanservice” b.s. The trailer is fantastic and some of us are really looking forward to this movie! Awards don’t really matter but I still hope for many nominations for it, esp. for Robert James-Collier!

    Some members of the Academy are fan of the TV series. They are definitely going to watch the movie. We will see after September 20 what critics will say.

    I’ve never seen the series. I do have the complete series on Blu Ray but haven’t gotten around to viewing it.

    Will viewers of the film need to have seen the series or can this be viewed ‘cold’ so to speak.

    You have to watch the series completely. I recommend it. You will get puzzled if you watch the movie without knowing their characters.

    It interests me to see how people who have never seen the series react to the movie. I think it will be self-contained, at least based on the trailers I have seen, so that even people who have never seen the show will understand what is going on. Of course I think everybody should watch the series but it is 6 seasons long and very time consuming! (Time well spent!) (:

    Darling, stop being so dramatic. I didn’t insult Smith, it was an amusing way to say that she’s not getting the dildo.
