I’d love to see a modern day version of What Ever Happened To Baby Jane with Viola as Jane and Angela as Blanche.April 13, 2020 at 4:50 pm #1203425139
I also would have liked to have seen real life sisters Phylicia Rashad and Debbie Allen play these roles.April 13, 2020 at 6:17 pm #1203425225
There is a TV movie with the Redgrave sisters (Lynn and Vanessa) playing the roles. Anyone ever see it?April 13, 2020 at 7:56 pm #1203425306
I love viola but I’d rather see Lynn Whitfield and AngelaApril 13, 2020 at 7:59 pm #1203425313
I would like to see Jenifer Lewis in the mixApril 13, 2020 at 7:59 pm #1203425315
Or Jenifer Lewis and Khandi AlexanderApril 13, 2020 at 8:17 pm #1203425339
Khandi Alexander would be great too. She was so damn good in Scandal.
Did y’all know she started out as a backup dancer for Whitney?April 18, 2020 at 12:17 am #1203433219This post was found to be inappropriate by the moderators and has been removed.April 18, 2020 at 7:57 am #1203433566
More like the other way around honey. Viola Davis only plays vulnerable characters, I doubt she does good with Baby Jane, Blanche suits her better. Angela Bassett was fully compelling as Marie Laveau, she’d be phenomenal as Jane.
I wouldn’t call Annalise Keating or Veronica Rawlings vulnerable…

I would literally die. I need an acting face-off between these two legends
Best Actress - Viola Davis, Frances McDormand
Best Actor - Delroy Lindo, Chadwick Boseman
Best Supporting Actor - Colman Domingo, Glynn Turman
Best Picture - Nomadland
Best Director - Chloé Zhao
SAG Ensemble - Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom
Best Cinematography - NomadlandJune 24, 2020 at 12:46 am #1203549283
I’d rather see a completely different story for Viola/Angela. There are SO many great stories that are waiting to be greenlit.
I’m tired of black actors stepping to roles originally played by white actors. (unless its Shakespeare…im way more open to it). There are so many black creatives, producers, directors, and writers that are creating FRESH stories to be told.
