Glenn has had one hell of a career based on her nominations/wins alone.

I can’t believe Glenn Close is so close to finally winning that Triple Crown. so honestly I’m torn between her and Colman as to who i’ll hope to win this coming weekend.

also can we talk Laura Linney. homegirl’s a 4-time emmy winner. I really want her to win the Triple Crown too. she’s a prolific stage actress and already has 4 tony award nominations. not to mention she has 3 oscar nominations which is nothing to scoff at. these just mean there’s a possibility for her TC although she’s not really on the radar at the moment. She’s in Ozark which is one of my fave shows atm (Breaking Bad vibes tbh so i’m loving it).

i did recently see an interview of her, Timmy and Saoirse (3 of my fave actors/actresses; I know, it’s exciting) on Graham Norton, and Laura’s doing a one-woman show in London. we stan.

Nothing to be torn about since this is Close’s last chance. She’s 71 and her rival nominees are beatable for a variety of reasons.

Recently found out Allison Janney is a 2-time Tony nominee. She should return to theatre asap.

I’ve never felt so bittersweet about Oscars. Olivia Colman’s win for Best Actress was a stellar moment full of genuine emotions (Emma & Yorgos!) and for a deserving performance but at the same time I can’t believe Glenn Close didn’t win yet again… I’m speechless that out of 4 acting categories this one frontrunner didn’t win and the other 3 went as planned. I feel for Close, really.

On the other hand Emmy winners Regina King and Rami Malek are now 2/3 for Triple Crown of Acting with only Tony missing (I don’t think either of them has done Broadway in the past). Olivia Colman might soon join them with Emmy Awards possibiities for “The Crown” and perhaps the same can be said about Mahershala Ali and “True Detective”.

I think it’s in the cards. She really has the chops to do it all. If she does American theatre, I’m just salivating over the roles she can do. She really can do so much.

So Rami’s one away from his own Triple Crown, I wonder what kind of Broadway role would suit him enough to earn a Tony

You forget about James Corden, he has a TONY for best actor in a play for “One Man, Two Guvnors” in 2012 and and a PRIMETIME EMMY for Outstanding Actor in a Short Form Comedy/Drama series for JC’s next James Corden in 2018.. all he needs is an OSCAR. 🙂

If he ever leaves his talk show he could. He’s a really great actor. He does both comedy and drama very well. I saw him in The History Boys on broadway and One Man, Two Guvnors. He’s really great and could win an Oscar.
