Cynthia EriVo will likely win the Daytime Emmy for Musical Performance in Daytime Program this year, and then she’s just an Oscar away. She could very well pull off a Lupita, or just win for songwriting
Daytime Emmys never count for triple crown. Which is why Whoopi Goldberg’s EGOT status is controversial.April 10, 2017 at 9:34 am #1202062315
For some reason, I have a feeling Lupita could get a triple crown. I know she is two awards away, I just have that feeling.April 10, 2017 at 9:57 am #1202062345
Jessica Lange need a Grammy. Somebody get her to do an audiobook NOW.
it should just be a book of insults … just reading you to filth

She is a recent Tony nominee. And once she actually secures one of those she’s one guest appearance or TV movie away from an Emmy.April 10, 2017 at 11:16 am #1202062429
Audra McDonald is missing the Oscar. I think she could win one eventually as well.
And the Emmy.
Audra is a Primetime Emmy winner for hosting Live from Lincoln Center. So, for the EGOT she’s just an Oscar away, but for the triple crown, she still needs 2 (although I would have voted for her to win for Lady Day this past year).April 10, 2017 at 1:25 pm #1202062530
Kevin Spacey only needs an Emmy to complete the triple crown. Been trying to win for a while now. If he can’t win for House of Cards, maybe a guest spot on an Emmy-darling TV show will do the trick.
Glenn Close has a film coming out this year, but looks like she’s never gonna win an Oscar.
Kevin Spacey doesn’t have the grammy…April 10, 2017 at 2:57 pm #1202062600
Due to many confusions I decided to drop the EGOT and focus on Triple Crown of Acting. If anyone would like to create a thread about possible EGOT contenders, be my guest.
Eduardo, you don’t need a Grammy to have a Triple Crown of Acting (look at first post here).
Critics Chayawat, thanks for pointing out that Kevin Spacey is almost in the club for years now but can’t get that Emmy somehow. By now he’ll get it for the final season of “House of Cards” or for anything else althogether.April 11, 2017 at 3:36 am #1202063101
If Blanchett wins for The Present, then she is an Emmy away from the Triple Crown.

Cynthia Nixon is an Oscar away from the Triple Crown and EGOT. She has A Quiet Passion this year, but it seems to go nowhere.April 11, 2017 at 11:08 am #1202063470
^^Let’s see. I’d bet on Nixon more as supporting contender than leading in the future but she’s obviously very talented and would never be a bad choice.April 23, 2017 at 2:13 am #1202074020
Added Cynthia Nixon and Glenn Close.April 23, 2017 at 7:07 am #1202074068
I wish Sigourney Weaver could be here but Emmys and Tonys have denied her for such a long time. And don’t even get me started on Oscars! The funniest thing is she kinda won Grammy. lolApril 23, 2017 at 7:34 am #1202074088

Is she actually a winner of that Grammy or was it just Jon Stewart?
I knew she wouldn’t win Emmy over either Barrymore or Lange in 2009 but she was my pick that year. She would have it if it wasn’t for “Grey Gardens”.
Undervalued all around. I mean how lucky she even was that she got do to “Alien” in the first place but other than that, no.April 23, 2017 at 7:38 am #1202074096
That’s why I said ‘kinda’ because I still don’t know who actually won it.
Yeah, if Grey Gardens was released in second half of 2009 she would have been a winner. Well, she’s just unlucky. Hope The Defenders will be her ticket to finally nab both Emmy and SAG. But knowing it’s a genre show probably not.
