One of my friends worked in this movie. He said everyone had cameos except Will. This movie is 100% Will Smith. He is in every scene

And this is the most expensive Slavery movie of all time. The Budget was 120-125 Million USD. This movie has several action/chase scenes. 80-85% of the movie are action/chase scenes

I agree. But the screenings went great. People who saw this slavery epic said “It’s the greatest Will Smith performance”

His name is Will Smith.  What he did was wrong but it was 8 months ago and it’s time to move on.  It’s sad that you and several others are still mad over this.

All kinds of opinions from Academy members surveyed about releasing the film now post-slap:

Will Oscar Voters Even Consider Voting for Will Smith for “Emancipation”? “We Have to Allow People to Grow,” “No Chance,” “F*** Him”
The Hollywood Reporter surveyed dozens of Academy members in the wake of Apple’s announcement that it will release Smith’s latest film in December, less than a year after his infamous slap of Chris Rock at the Oscars.

Maybe not Will. But this movie went really great in test screenings. So, I suppose it could be getting Several Technical Nominations. Maybe even Best Cinematography and Best Director Nominations

People compare it to Apocalypto(Mel Gibson) a great action movie. Maybe even a Best Picture Nomination?

Agree with the member that said it was too soon, I think they are just releasing it to get rid of it and move on from Smith. Also, if he gets nominated he will take the spotlight out of the other contenders and winners just like what happened this year. I know the Academy has nominated a lot of controversial figures but this feels too much. He slapped someone, in the middle of the ceremony, in front of the world and ruined the show for many other winners. I don’t see the Academy nominating him, especially when he won’t even attend.

I don’t sure. I remember The Golden Globes give very big standing ovations to Brad Pitt, Harvey Weinstein and Roman Polansky. So, I suppose Will Smith could win at The Golden Globes
