Yorgos Lanthimos will be directing Emma Stone in Searchlight’s adaption of a Bride of Frankenstein-esque book Poor Things. It’ll start filming in the fall. The plot for Emma’s second Oscar:

January 31, 2021 at 12:57 pm #1204011160I’ll never understand why filmmakers like Lanthimos and Chazelle are obsessed with Emma Stone. She’s not that good as an actress compared to many of her age range (Ronan, Pugh, Lawrence, Robbie, Johansson, DeArmas, etc..).
Trust me Yorgos, there are so many better and more bankable actresses out there than her.

His work on The Favourite and The Great has been PHENOMENAL, and I think his style/tone complements Lanthimos’ perfectly. This concept would have me worried in anyone else’s hands, but McNamara’s involvement assures me this’ll be good.

Please. You don’t like her but that doesn’t she is not better among these. Emma stone is incredibly talented and will be perfect for this movie.

Edit: Already seeing the haters come out oop

ReplyCopy URLJanuary 31, 2021 at 2:48 pm #1204011231So Yorgos’ Pop. 1280 adaptation is dead then? But well, I’ll take what I get. This man is an evil genius.

Because this is a comedic film and she’s the only one who proven she can convincingly sell pure slapstick comedy (see her 5 SNL hosting gigs), even Yorgos said he wanting her for The Favourite after seeing Easy A.

That’s okay, they can have her. These 2 directors are not at the level of a David O’Russell or PTA when it comes to awards anyway…Chazelle’s second collaboration with Gosling was a big flop at the box office and award ceremonies, so it’s not like everything he touches is gold. And we will see how Yorgos’ next does.
