The triller directed by Denis Villeneuve and starring Jake Gyllenhaal will be released March 14, 2014. Early reviews are incredibly positive.

This was filmed before Gyllenhaal and Villeneuve made Prisoners and is over an hour shorter than Prisoners is.

    Melanie Laurent also stars.

After Incendies and Prisoners, there is no way I’m missing this one. Villeneuve is a director to watch

    Here’s the trailer: LINK.

Looks fascinating. I’ve been reading that this is Gyllenhaal’s best performance yet, and that is exciting for me since I think he’s been on a roll lately by doing strong work in ‘Source Code’, ‘End of Watch’, and Villeneuve’s last film ‘Prisoners’ (even though he actually made ‘Enemy’ BEFORE he made ‘Prisoners’). Can’t wait.

I said in another thread…I saw this movie at TIFF. I’m surprised it’s getting such good reviews. It’s well shot. It’s got a GREAT score, and a nice style to it…but the script is a total mess. Things are so drawn out, and Jake’s character’s action are pretty much never logical or what a normal person would do.  Then that ending. Bahahaha.

I think some critics are just saying they love it to make themselves seem smart.

I am not sure why Gyllenhaal was praised for Prisoners.
