There is little doubt that Farrah Fawcett was a skilled actress who was held back by her famed good lucks and ultimately dismissed by many as a TV actress where quite honestly she simply did better work. Earlier lightweight performances in B films such as Myra Breckinridge and Logan’s Run didn’t help. While the play Extremeties was a compelling piece of physical exertion for the actors as well as an emotionally wrenching drama, the film is rather stage bound. The intensity of live theater is lost on screen.

For me the overlooked actress that year that Oscar snubbed was Melanie Griffith in Something Wild. She was electric in that film.

TBH Farrah should haveben nominated for Extremeties. Farrah was like the Meryl Streep/Glenn Close o TV in the 80’s. Ostanding actress. The film itself was not that good but she was.

This film was amazing, IMHO. Her performance was excellent. I remember watching it and being very moved by her performance, even as a kid!
